Our owners are the key to our success. As we build out our on-island guest services and support team, we must also provide services and support to our owners as well.
Silver Thatch in 2020 offers our owners a growing list of unique benefits and savings.
Payment of DOT Occupancy Taxes
Effective 2014, Grand Cayman Villas & Condos is to be listed as an “Operator” on each DOT license so that GCVC can collect, hold in trust and remit the occupancy taxes for the benefit fo the owner. No longer does the on-island manager have to chase down the owner for the taxes or pay the taxes (hoping the owner reimburses you). Our managers no longer risk a 20% fine for late-filing and don’t have to worry about keeping a separate tax account.
At-Cost Linens, Towels, Robes and Bedspreads.
Silver Thatch stocks Gilchrist & Soames 300 count, micro-check bed linens, Carnaby 100% cotton towels/hand towels/face cloths, as well as bath mats and beach towels. We also stock Compfy quilted bedspreads and shams in 3 different colors (white, gray and mocha). Managers just need to call ahead and arrange for collection. Open 7 days a week. Our staff will debit owner’s rental account for the items.
Discounted Kayaks and Paddleboards
Silver Thatch can store water sports equipment securely locked behind your owner’s villa. Owners assume no-risk in renting to guests as they are not a party to the transaction for legal protections. In exchange, owners are free to use the equipment at no cost for owner stays. We ask managers to store the paddles in a safe place
Body Wash, Shampoos, & Lotions
Silver Thatch provides a 5-pack of Gilchrist & Soames bath and body products for each bathroom for all guest arrivals. Owner stays are afforded the same service if desired. Managers do not have to shop anymore in town. They can collect the toiletry kits in advance of each arrival. Eco-friendly owners can request larger refillable dispensers and gallon-sized reserves to reduce plastic waste.
Boat Charter Discount
Our owners are extended a 25% discount on all private Am or Pm snorkel charters should they wish to reserve our 27′ Boston Whaler while on-island. The cost of the charter can be debited against owner statements as a Silver Thatch Charge, same no-fuss procedure as if ordering linens, towels or robes.
Free Snorkel Gear Checkout
We have invested in high-quality snorkel gear from ScubaPro for our guests and owners alike. Masks, snorkels, and fins are all available for complimentary check-out from our Welcome Center. Enjoy exploring the island’s shallow reefs, then simply return the items at the end of your stay.
Free Convenience Items
Apple TVs, Keurig coffee machines, beverage coolers, shower chairs, baby gear, corn hole sets and volleyball gear, all of these items and more are free for check-out to both guests and owners alike. Save a trip to the Welcome Center and have items delivered for a nominal fee debited on your owner statement.

Owner Card vs. Guest Card
The key difference between the guest benefit card and the owner benefit card is that the owner card is not entitled to the incentive discounts offered by our preferred vendors to our tourist guests. Silver Thatch is a proprietary reciprocal relationship for the service-fee paying guests of Grand Cayman Villas & Condos. Tourist Guests, Villa Owners and Preferred Vendors all benefit from this reciprocal relationship.
